Tracking and stats
It’s great to know your blog is popular and theflow 2.0 has two methods to help give you feedback
Show who’s online
This feature adds a red counter to your blog displaying how many visitors are actually viewing your content right now.
It updates every time a new user enters or leaves your site. Just select ‘Show Whos Online’ to activate.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is the worlds most popular and comprehensive web stats package. Every visitor, where they came from, what they looked at, for how long and when they visited is logged. Its capabilities are truly amazing and beyond the scope of this document, however we can show you how to get it working with you Tumblr site.
Go to http://www.google.com/analytics/ If you have a Google account you can use this if not just hit the Sign Up link.
Once you have finished the signing in or setting up process, you will be asked to add your Tumblr address. Make sure you enter the entire address, if you use a custom URL use this. This is all you need to add to set up the stats package. At the end of the process you will be given a unique code. This will begin with AU- followed by a series of numbers; this is your Google Analytics Acc No. There will also be some tracking code given to you; you do not need this as theflow 2.0 already has this in the themes code. Just add your account number to the ‘Google Analytics Acc No’ control and your site will track every visitor to your site.
